Larry Miller is the President and CEO of Activate Networks. He is a pioneer in developing novel information approaches to healthcare data. In addition to founding PharMetrics, ImpactRx, and Optio Research, he played key roles in companies such as HPR and Avicenna Systems. He is also a physician and clinical pharmacologist.

Tony Askew

Tony Askew

Tony has over twenty years experience of building and financing digital media and technology businesses. He was a founding partner of Reed Elsevier Ventures in 2000 and focuses on digital media, Internet and big data & technology investments.


Senator William W. Bradley

Senator William W. Bradley is a Managing Director of Allen & Company LLC. From 2001-2004, he acted as chief outside advisor to McKinsey & Company’s nonprofit practice. He was a Senior Advisor and Vice Chairman of the International Council of JP Morgan & Co. from 1997-1999. During that time, he also worked as an essayist for CBS Evening News and was a visiting professor at Stanford University, University of Notre Dame, and the University of Maryland. Senator Bradley served in the U.S. Senate from 1979 – 1997, representing New Jersey. In 2000, he was a candidate for the Democratic nomination for President of the United States. Prior to serving in the Senate, he was an Olympic gold medalist in 1964 and a professional basketball player with the New York Knicks from 1967 – 1977, during which time they won 2 NBA championships. In 1982 he was elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame.

Senator Bradley holds a BA degree in American History from Princeton University and an MA degree from Oxford University, where he was a Rhodes Scholar. He has authored six books on American politics, culture, and economy.

Currently, Senator Bradley hosts American Voices, a weekly show on Sirius Satellite Radio that highlights the remarkable accomplishments of Americans, both famous and unknown.

Nicholas Christakis

Nicholas Christakis, M.D., Ph.D., M.P.H.

Nicholas Christakis is a physician and social scientist, and Professor of Medicine, Sociology and Health Care Policy at Harvard University. He’s the pre-eminent international authority on social network effects in health, and his work is widely cited in both academic and popular publications. He’s the author, with James Fowler, of Connected: The Surprising Power of Social Networks and How They Shape Our Lives (2009). In 2009 he was chosen by Time magazine as one of the 100 most influential people in the world. Dr. Christakis is Scientific Founder of Activate Networks and serves on its Board.

Juan Enriquez

Juan Enriquez 

Juan Enriquez is a Managing Director at Excel Venture Management. He is a leading authority on the economic impact of life sciences on business and society, and a respected business leader and entrepreneur. He represents Excel on the boards of Shape Up the Nation, Fina Technologies, Catch.com, and Synthetic Genomics, as well as Activate Networks.

Prior to Excel, Mr. Enriquez was the Founding Director of the Harvard Business School’s Life Sciences Project, with many of his innovative thoughts captured in his bestselling book, As the Future Catches You, which provides an accurate blueprint of how a bio-based economy changes industries and corporations.

Following HBS, Mr. Enriquez became an active angel investor and founder of Biotechonomy Ventures, which invested in BioTrove, Xcellerex, and Synthetic Genomics, a company he co-founded with Drs. J. Craig Venter and Hamilton Smith, to apply life sciences to energy markets. As a business leader, advisor, and renowned speaker, he works directly with the CEOs of a number of Fortune Fifty companies, as well as with various heads of state, on how to adapt to a world where the dominant language is shifting from digital towards the language of life. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Cabot Corporation (NYSE: CBT), and he graduated from Harvard with a B.A. and M.B.A., both with honors.
