In 2010 Healthways and Activate Networks announced a strategic partnership to apply the science of social network mapping to population health management. The understanding of social network structures and dynamics will inform the design of Healthways intervention strategies to improve well-being by showing the relationships and degrees of influence between individuals, providers, and organizations, such as employers, within a given community.

In 2011 the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL) and Activate Networks announced a strategic partnership to form the Leadership and Talent Focus Area of The Network Roundtable, a research consortium of businesses committed to the application of network science and approaches to organizational development.
